ABOUT THE COLLECTION: BROKEN is the latest collection from BeBuddha which officially launched in November 2017. The collection was inspired by a collaboration with former Project Runway designer, Tieler James. Tieler asked BeBuddha to create 16 pairs of tassel earrings to walk in his Fall/Winter 2017 collection debut! While we were creating that collection we developing this pyramidal shape. Once we set off the earrings, we began to play with this shape and pretty soon we had a full collection!
WHY BROKEN?: As you can see, this collection is very different that anything we've ever created! Not only is it the first metal-smithed collection we've debuted but it is the most sophisticated, simple, and minimal as well. The name BROKEN comes from the idea that we all have a little piece inside of us that persists through challenge, hard times, and confrontation. The pyramid structure is a metaphor for that "little piece". We have stripped away a lot of what BeBuddha is known for (the color, the stones, the outrageousness) and this is what persisted.
ABOUT THE STONES: Part of my fascination with jewelry making is the stones. What do they mean? Where did they come from? Below find the meaning of the stones of this particular piece. Please keep in mind that gemstones and semi-precious gemstones have many different meanings to many different cultures- these are just what I’ve found in my research! :)
*** DRUZY QUARTZ purifies and amplifies the body's natural healing properties and strengthens the spirit. It is also believed to provide the balance necessary to avoid depression or unnatural feelings of fear or dread. Still others believe that druzy helps its wearer to relax, thereby reducing stress levels.
